Working To End Melanoma and Pancreatic Cancer

The Woiner Foundation

Pi Sigma Epsilon loves to give back to the community! It is for this reason that in 2015 we adopted the Woiner Foundation as our chapter philanthropy. We created this partnership to provide financial and member support to the organization through on campus fundraising and volunteering when needed.

Proceeds from all Woiner Foundation events support the Melanoma Center at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, under the direction of Dr. John Kirkwood, Dr. A. James Moser, through the Alliance of Families Fighting Pancreatic Cancer, and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

The Woiner Foundation, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit, was started in 2013 by Jessica W. Fera, in memory of her dad, Tim, who lost his life to melanoma, in honor of her mother, Rita, who lost her life to pancreatic cancer, and in honor of her husband, Ric, who is a two-time melanoma survivor.
